Title: Senior Environmental Health & Safety Specialist (EHS)
Scope
This position will lead Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) initiatives to ensure compliance to legislative, industry and corporate requirements and drive continuous improvement of EHS programs including, fire safety, electrical safety, accident investigation, risk assessments, chemical management and hazardous waste activities and other EHS matters for the site.
The position reports directly to the Regional EHS Manager for Asia, with a dotted line reporting structure to local Shanghai Branch Manager.

Key Responsibilities
1.Assist in the investigation, analyzing and reporting of EHS incidents and near miss and ensure implementation of preventive actions.
2.Conduct risk assessments and perform structured Job Hazard Analysis for various types of operation and implementation of control measures.
3.Coordinate and maintain training programs and records for programs including but not limited to Respirator, PPE, Machine Guarding, First Aid, Chemical Spills, Fire Extinguishers, Hoist Training, Hot Work, LOTO, Hazardous Waste, Confined Space, Ergonomics, Medical Surveillance, Ladder Safety, Accident Investigation and Contractor Safety, etc.
4.Implement UL policies, procedures and programs in compliance with applicable rules, regulations, policies and standards
5.Develop and Implement Chemicals Management Program and Battery Testing Safety Program including: chemical purchase approval, chemical / battery storage, maintenance of facility chemical inventory database and Safety Data Sheets, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and associated training to ensure regulatory compliance.
6.Develop facility EHS management plan, performance objectives and targets. Facilitate plan implementation and report to site leadership in attaining them.
7.Develop and Coordinate fire safety and emergency preparedness program including spill control, evacuation drills and training, etc.
8.Drive EHS continuous improvement through the use of lean and other management systems in conjunction with the Safety Committee and site leadership.
9.Inventory, inspect and maintain adequate first aid supplies, AED's, spill kits and specialized emergency response equipment.
10.Manage various types of EHS permits, certifications and registrations including compilation and submission of all required EHS reports to regulatory agencies and fulfil EHS corporate reporting requirements.

Qualifications
1.Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Health and Safety
2.5+ years’ experience in industrial manufacturing environment; experience working with multinational electrical / battery testing facilities and minimum of 3 years of technical and practical knowledge of laboratory operations
3.In-depth knowledge of China EHS laws, regulations and principles
4.Certified Safety Engineer preferred
5.Functional knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and OSHAS 18001
6.Able to write local EHS programs and instructions and develop EHS training materials
7.Excellent written and fluent communications skills and English language skills
8.Strong computer and data management skills, including MS Office and enterprise systems.
9.Task oriented with strategic problem solving skills
